Credit & Collections Specialist
Location: This position will work onsite. The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of the Elevance Health PulsePoint location FL-Altamonte Springs; 370-774 Northlake BLVD
Shifts Available:
Monday-Friday 10:00 am-7:00 pm
Monday-Friday 11:00 am-8:00 pm
The Credit & Collections Specialist is responsible for collection activities related to past-due health insurance premiums and/or past-due health insurance claims.
How you will make an impact:
- Outbound calling to collect payment directly from patients.
- Insurance Accounts Receivable reflective of old money and new money tasks.
- Handle Explanation of Benefits.
- Handling data manipulation using Excel.
- Follows established guidelines, contacts group for the purpose of collecting past due insurance premiums and/or past due health insurance claims.
- Research validity of past due and/or disputed debt.
- Generates demand letters.
- Prepares reports reflecting status of credit and collection activities for management review.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a H.S. diploma or equivalent.
- Requires a minimum of 1 year of prior commercial debt collection experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Collections experience is strongly preferred.
- Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
- Insurance experience is strongly preferred.
