Job Description:
The Payroll Tax and Reporting Manager is responsible for all Payroll Tax compliance, payroll audits, and payroll reports for the US and Canada.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with multi-state Payroll Tax regulations, payroll, audit and reporting. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and research skills. This position is located at Webber, LLC, a Ferrovial company, in The Woodlands, Texas.
Duties & Responsibilities
Research, register and setup new State and Local taxes for new entities or for existing entities in a timely manner.
Resolve Payroll Tax notices from federal, state and local agencies with high priority.
Resolve tax and garnishments inquiries.
Must keep up-to-date knowledge of Payroll Tax laws and provide guidance for Payroll Tax matters.
Lead the activation of payment services for new entities.
Work with the vendor's tax team to resolve tax issues timely.
Perform audits of Payroll Tax records.
Responsible for payroll's external, internal and ICFR audits.
Support all companies with workers' comp and 401K annual audits.
Support projections of payroll exposures for worker's comp renewal process.
Routinely perform audit of payrolls related to terminations and LOAs.
Reconciliations of Federal and State taxes, quarterly and year-end statements, reconciliation of W-2's.
Responsible for the general ledger reconciliations of payroll accounts.
Resolve payroll entries inquiries relating to tax and garnishments payments and net pays.
Ensure timely and accurately filing of certified payroll.
Ensure Prevailing Wages are in compliance.
Ensure all required reports are prepared and distributed timely.
Special projects as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or experience equivalents in related field, CPP preferred.
10+ year experience in payroll, multi-state Payroll Tax, garnishments, prevailing wages or similar role
US and Canada payroll experience
Strong Payroll Taxes research skills
Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical skills, and attention to details
Initiative-taking, due -date focus, and excellent problem-solving skills
Experience with UKG, Workday or similar HRIS systems a plus
