Resideo is hiring a Material Handling Group Leader for our Golden Valley plant! The successful candidate will: lead staff in receiving and storing incoming stock; filling orders and stock inventories upon request. You will direct staff and support loading and unloading incoming and outgoing material and equipment using power operated Material Handling equipment. You will direct services in all areas of the plant with parts to be processed. You will coach and train written work procedures while maintaining an orderly storage area. You will correct and coach negative traits and encourage positive actions. You will also audit work completed to confirm it follows proper procedures.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Lead team in loading and unloading items such as machinery, equipment and raw materials from trailers and flatbeds using wire slings to bind loads while hoisting and moving with power operated Material Handling equipment.
  • Support staff in receiving and storing incoming materials. Move incoming materials and stock from receiving to storage area. Check move order or identification ticket for location. Use power operated Material Handling equipment to store items in designated area.
  • Fill orders for raw stock and miscellaneous items. Read orders for quantity and description of requested items or materials. Draw materials from storage area, indicate "amount used" on order, and spot load in outgoing area.
  • Inventory materials upon request: Receive request from items in stock, check file location, count items by physical or weight count and notify offices of available supply. Preform audits to check accuracy of inventories.
  • Be able to communicate issues with employees and supervisor to problem solve. Use LSW to manage time and tasks so they continue to be completed on time.
  • Oversee power equipment and schedule repairs as needed: Check level of water and conditions of batteries with hydrometer; move equipment to charging area; and attach leads of charger to battery terminals until battery is charged.
  • Assist and instruct others in loading and unloading trucks, receiving stock, filling orders and maintaining an orderly storage area.
  • Have a good understanding of SAP operating system. Be able to process shipments, receive inventory, complete cycle counts, and move inventory from departments. Coach and train staff on SAP to help manage department needs.
  • Lug Die's and Molds in and out of Punch Press and Molding machines. Operate metal shear to cut material to width based on Method layouts/Prints. Verify all ops on travelers are completed and crossed off with PID of operator that performed task. Use part check program to verify the quality of product. Use sidewinder to move raw stock. Keep track of Die/Mold locations. Move Die's/Molds in and out of the Tool Room to proper location. Use computer system to enter raw material into proper location.

MOS - Embrace and engage in the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate power equipment, load and unload trucks, and move bulky material or equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Exposed to engine exhaust and outside conditions while working on dock.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Must meet designated lifting requirements.
  • Safety glasses with side shields required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required according to job duties.
  • Drinking and eating in designated areas only.
  • Must maintain good housekeeping practices in assigned area. (Perform 5S activities within the cell)
  • Must work in a team environment and will be required to rotate to different aspects of the job.
  • May be exposed to noise, dirt and/or chemicals in some areas.
  • May require successful completion of a variety of on-the-job certifications or qualification programs (including classroom instruction where applicable).

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 9 Months of Forklift Experience

  • Experience Material Handling in a production setting.

The Material Handling Group Leader position has a starting pay rate of $27.83/hour with a scheduled increase to $30.07/hour effective April 1, 2024.
