About this RoleSUMMARY
The responsibilities of the Senior Accountant, External Reporting & Complex Transactions primarily includes the preparation of SEC financial disclosures, tables and schedules supporting quarterly and annual filings as well as the creation of journal entries and documentation in support of the company's frequent merger and acquisition activity. The Senior Accountant, External Reporting also assists with research projects for various technical accounting issues. The position requires interaction with various groups within the corporate offices (i.e. Procurement, Real Estate, Divisional Accounting, Mergers & Acquisitions, Treasury, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis, Investor Relations, Legal, etc.), as well as domestic and international operating units' accounting personnel.

What You'll DoJOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of SEC financial tables and schedules in support of 10-Q and 10-K financial statements and disclosures, particularly related to stockholders' equity, investments, multi-employer pensions, goodwill, intangibles, business combinations, proforma financials and others.
- Responsible for the creation of purchase accounting and other acquisition-related journal entries as well as documentation of procedures and technical accounting memorandums specific to business combinations, intangible valuation assumptions and forecasts and goodwill impairment assessments.
- Assists in preparation of the quarterly and annual project files within Quanta's External Reporting application (Workiva) including the set up and maintenance of the 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K Earnings Release documents and spreadsheets in advance of quarterly and annual filings.
- Coordinates the collection of all SEC supporting schedules from various groups within the corporate office and works closely with the external audit team each quarter to ensure all schedules are provided.
- Assists in the preparation and tie-out of 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K Earnings Release and earnings materials including CEO/CFO scripts and slide decks.
- Assists in the preparation and tie-out of various internal and external presentations including Board and Investor slide decks and annual ESG report as well as the review of data posted to the Company's Interactive Analyst Center (IAC).
- Assists in the tie-out and review of XBRL data included in SEC filings.
- Contributes to research of technical accounting issues and the preparation of memorandums that summarize the Company's position including:
- Consolidation assessments
- Business combination considerations
- Segment reporting
- Impairment triggering events
- Implementation of new accounting standards
- Other miscellaneous technical accounting matters
- Performs internal controls for areas of responsibility.
- Evaluates existing processes for efficiencies and control deficiencies.
- Recommends and implements process improvements as identified.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting and minimum 2 - 4 years Big4 public accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP accounting requirements and experience with technical accounting research.
