Full time hourly position - qualify for overtime after 40 hours in a work week.
Reports to
HSE Area Manager
Summary / Objective
Responsible for supporting the company's safety program and for providing guidance to personnel to enhance the company's Safety culture by conducting ongoing support and audit services of all safety programs.
Essential Functions
- Continuously demonstrate and promote safety to develop a workplace safety culture that can achieve an accident and injury free status.
- Participates in the development and implementation of company-wide safety programs and in formulating program strategies and policies.
- Provides on-going support in managing, investigating and classifying accidents, injuries and near misses involving employees and vehicles.
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis reviews and reports as required.
- Assist superintendents to ensure employees are in compliance with safety training requirements.
- Conduct and/or assist, as needed, in safety meetings and presentations at all levels
- Provide safety support to various departments and individuals as it relates to customer needs.
- Perform Operational Safety inspections and provide comprehensive reports to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, FMCSA and EPA Safety Policies and Standards

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will have supervisory responsibility over DOW/Olin jobsites
Work Environment
This position works both in the field and in office settings.

Required Education and Experience
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years prior experience in a safety and/or supervision role within a heavy industrial setting.
- Must possess a CSST certification or other equivalent certifications.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and typing skills.
- Must have basic Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Business school and college credits in safety are preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Work is primarily conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting.
