As a Manager, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting, you will play a crucial hands-on role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and quality of our Financial Reporting. Based in Dallas, Texas, and reporting directly to the SVP Accounting, this role will be a trusted business partner on accounting and reporting matters. This highly visible leadership position plays a meaningful role in maintaining the highest level of financial integrity and providing valuable insights to support key decision-making processes. This role is expected to have strong Technical Accounting skills and ability to research and apply accounting guidance to new or existing transactions executed by the company. You will be instrumental in the workflow of communication between accounting, finance, legal, and internal/external teams and seeking opportunities to refine processes and create efficiencies. This position will take part in special projects, as well as interface with the external auditors to provide audit support as requested.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Accounting & finance teams and external service providers to incorporate core business transactions into the accounting close process and ensure that transactions are properly recorded and managed in a scalable and efficient manner.
- Assist Accounting & finance teams as needed with investor engagement activities, including preparation materials for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage audit requests (PBCs) with external auditors during year-end audits as well as prepare the financial statements and footnotes for the company’s Annual Report.
- Oversee all facets of insurance reserves, variable and incentive compensation, hedge accounting, and leases.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Technical Accounting issues, including revenue recognition, investments, leases, business combinations, and other areas per GAAP standards.
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage purchase price allocations with our internal M&A group and external valuation service providers.
- Research, analyze, and implement new and existing accounting and reporting pronouncements, utilizing authoritative guidance, and operationalizing through detailed accounting policies.
- Provide Technical Accounting training to finance and accounting teams, ensuring a strong understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline reporting and increase efficiency.
- Assist with month-end close activities as needed, and special projects and initiatives as required.
- Act as a mentor and leader, fostering professional development within the finance organization.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization, ranging from staff to C-Suite, and the ability to explain accounting concepts to various stakeholders.
- Intellectual curiosity to learn about the “whys” of the business and ability to speak to financial information with a general understanding of operational drivers.

- Experience in the documentation, maintenance, and improvement of internal controls as necessary with respect to Financial Reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent, Master’s Degree preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Big 4 (assurance or advisory) or national public accounting firm experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes Oxley, required.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant accounting/Financial Reporting experience, with a preference to individuals who have experience in a Financial Reporting environment with a listed SEC registrant.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial collaborators.
- Ability to work independently, with initiative and independent judgement.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while successfully delivering results.
- A highly developed problem solver who takes charge of creating solutions.
- Advanced competency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite products (e.g., Word and PowerPoint).
