Manager - Global Tax Reporting

The Manager - Global Tax Reporting is responsible for managing, consolidating, and reviewing the Global Tax provision. This includes preparing tax disclosures, identifying process efficiencies, supporting tax data and analytics, presenting results to key executives, and documenting SOX controls. Other responsibilities may include assisting with compliance, research and planning, tax exam controversy, and supervision of staff. This position reports to the Director - Income Tax. To be successful, the candidate must have sound technical and technological skills, strong problem-solving and process improvement instincts, and the capacity to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Major Activities

• Manage forecasted, interim, and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations and consolidation
• Review federal and state tax adjustments
• Review tax journal entries and account reconciliations
• Review income tax footnotes and variance reports
• Interact with external and internal auditors and ensure SOX requirements are met
• Coordinate with accounting, treasury, and finance colleagues on company transactions, data challenges, and new accounting or tax pronouncements.
• Consult and advise on significant transactions and provide timely business support and analysis.
• Identify, research, and resolve federal tax and tax accounting technical issues or opportunities
• Lead or participate in special projects as requested by management
• Assist with tax examination Information Document Requests
• Plan and schedule team workload for timely and accurate completion of projects
• Supervise, develop, and mentor income tax personnel and complete performance management duties
• Support ongoing process transformation initiatives
• Monitor changes in U.S. tax laws and applicable GAAP pronouncements
• Serve as an income tax resource for other departments

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Minimum Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

• Certified Public Accountant
• Strong knowledge and application of accounting principles, including ASC 740
• Proficient in Excel and the rest of the Microsoft Suite, tax preparation and provision software, and tax research tools to interpret and solve complicated tax matters

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

• 10+ years in the area of corporate income tax accounting and compliance involving large, multi-jurisdictional environments with a global public accounting firm or a large corporation
• 3+ years of management experience

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-project, deadline-driven environment and working with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and presentation
• Comfort level presenting to senior leaders
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills and enthused by working as part of a team
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule out of our Irving, TX corporate office

Preferred Education

• Master's degree in Tax

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

• Hands-on ONESOURCE Tax Provision expertise
• Familiarity with ETL software such as Alteryx and ERP applications and tools such as Oracle, Essbase and SmartView

Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires

• Exposure to Retail or CPG industry issues
• Involvement with state and/or international income tax accounting and issues
