Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Safety/EM/Security Manager is responsible for monitoring compliance of the Physical Environment to include Life Safety, Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and Security operations.

• Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital, and external regulatory agency guidelines.
• Coordinates activities of the management plans within the Environment of care for the hospital and serves as the hospital Safety Officer. Co-chairs Environment of Care Committee under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
• Provides guidance regarding any safety improvement efforts through design recommendations, process improvement recommendations, and education.
• Ensures safety and facility quality control is in compliance with local, federal, state regulations and provide consultations. This includes coordination with the Facility Director to ensure the hospital statement of conditions (E-SOC) is continually updated.
• Reviews and track data provided within the Environment of Care program to make ongoing improvements.
• Participates in any regulatory based committee meeting within the hospital to ensure compliance.
• Reviews and updates policies and procedures regarding Life Safety, Environment of Care and Emergency Management. Coordinates directly with EOC sub-chapter content experts to ensure compliance with any policy and process regulatory changes.
• Participates in performance improvement and information management activities. Coordinates a multidisciplinary team to conduct ongoing environmental tours of clinical and nonclinical areas. Ensures staff attendance at all HCA North Texas Division, Tarrant County, and city EM meetings to ensure community participation and preparedness awareness.
• Oversees all on-site inspections, assisting inspectors and surveyors in the performance of their duties; provides report as required in follow-up to surveys, inspections and audits.
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Drivers License
• High School Graduate / GED
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Emergency Management, Constructions or related field preferred
• CHSP and/or CHEP Certifications preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with oversight of hospital safety programs to include Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management preferred
