This position requires 50% travel. Candidates must be based in Southern California (preferably Los Angeles or San Diego) to be considered.
Job Summary:
The Facilities & Safety Manager is responsible for all aspects of physical site safety and maintenance to ensure a well-maintained environment of care for clients, staff, and visitors. In partnership with Development, this person delivers compliant and on-time site-projects (denovos, relocations, expansions, etc.). They manage budgets, monitor progress, lead various multidisciplinary teams and communicate with stakeholders accordingly.
Major Responsibilities:
- Upholds and maintains the Company, mission, and values (called the Lightfully "Shining Commitments").
- Responsible for all aspects of safety and maintenance programs related to facilities and equipment including but not limited to, emergency management, life safety, fire safety, vehicles, and environment of care standards.
- Participates in the creation and oversees maintenance of protocols related to emergency management, including but not limited to, evacuation plans, drills, utilities, and emergency supplies. Conducts audits to ensure site leaders are adhering to P&P related to the same.
- Demonstrates current knowledge and competency in regulatory compliance (The Joint Commission, state agency requirements, etc.) and ensures active ongoing educational programs for self and staff.
- Provides and maintains tools that allow staff to deliver care in successful and efficient ways. These tools include but are not limited to climate control, badges, vehicles, security camera management, gates and locks, safety lighting, etc.
- Manages and monitors all aspects of maintenance (preventive, corrective and scheduled) and construction projects to ensure quality standards are met. Coordinates filing any applicable claims against insurance policies, home warranties, communication with landlord, and identifying and scheduling vendors as needed.
- Plans, coordinates, communicates, and facilitates activities cross functionally in compliance with program, design, quality, and technical requirements internally and with vendor partners on projects. This includes working closely with IT to ensure all equipment is functioning and secure.
- Responsible for coordination of fire inspection and pre-license survey (in partnership with Director of Clinical Quality) and ensures physical site compliance and readiness for operation.
- In partnership with Development, creates and tracks schedules, including critical path activity management, quality assurance checks and resolution, and reporting on project status, schedule, and financials.
- Actively participates in strategic planning, performance improvement (quality assurance performance improvement), and budget preparation, including recommendations for Capital Expenditures to align with safety, quality, and brand standards.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.

- Strong communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, referents, and the public.
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to communicate with individuals over phone, electronic correspondence, and in-person.
- Frequently ascends and descends stairs. 85% - 100% of the fundamental job requirements occur inside residential facilities, most locations are multiple-story facilities and may require going up and down stairs.
- Ability to operate in occasionally noisy environments.
- May be required to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The pay range for this position is $75,000-108,000 annually.
