Summary
About the Position: Serves as Executive Officer and advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), Force Health Protection Directorate and is responsible for providing support to the Director and Deputy Director, and other DCS FHP elements.

Duties
  • Formulates, plans, and provides technical expertise regarding all aspects of staff operations throughout organization and supports its major programs with special emphasis on the organizational component of administrative information.
  • Develops recommended policies, in coordination with Operations and Integration and technical Directorates, for force health protection programs and administrative workflows within the DCS FHP.
  • Manages, coordinates, and directs actions for incoming and outgoing correspondence or inquiries and provides comments and concurrences subsequent to approval by the Deputy and the Director.
  • Provides guidance and assistance in the management of complex force health protection projects, studies, and action items.

In order to qualify, you must meet the work experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience is defined as: direction, operation, and integration of the activities involving multiple directorate specialties, communication with both internal and external organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
