Description:
Law firm is accepting applications for an entry-level Oil & Gas Attorney in its Dallas or Cincinnati office. We are seeking recent graduates who are detail-oriented, diligent, analytical, efficient and have the desire to learn a new skillset that combines processes from the legal, real estate and oil and gas professions.Responsibilities:
- Review publicly recorded and unrecorded documents in order to identify the chain of title of various real property interests
- Conduct legal research on real property and oil and gas law
- Identify potential title defects and curative actions for said title defects
- Analyze oil and gas leases, assignments, and related agreements
- Utilize public records and other provided resources to obtain well data, deeds, heirship proceedings, and other information
- Utilize Excel spreadsheets to calculate ownership of various real property interests
- Draft Mineral Title Opinions
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, strong research ability, mathematical ability, and excellent reading and writing skills
- Unwavering attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel along with an interest in and comfort with learning new applications
- Ability to work full time in the Dallas or Cincinnati office
