What You'll Do:
We are seeking a highly dedicated individual who has experience in the legal field and has been licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio for at least one year. The Associate Counsel will be responsible for:

• Providing legal advice and consultation to OBM's Director, Assistant Director, and all levels of management staff.
• Acting as in-house counsel for the agency by conducting research, negotiating contracts, and interpreting law and legislation.
• Drafting proposed legislation and agency administrative rules.
• Conducting disciplinary hearings.
• Representing OBM at meetings.
• Advising internal staff as well as other agencies on all issues related to state finances.

Subject to OBM's teleworking policy and an approved teleworking agreement, this position is eligible to work from a remote location on a hybrid basis. The selected applicant may be required to complete initial trainings prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by OBM's Director of Human Resources and management, subject to the conditions outlined in the agency policy and teleworking agreement.
Qualifications:
Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 months experience as licensed attorney; 6 months experience in employee training & development.
