As an Employee Communications Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the internal communications strategy for our organization to ensure operational efficiency and support thought leadership. You will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure that all internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s goals and values. You will deliver compelling content that targets recruits, engages employees and strengthens the company’s culture.

As the Employee Communications Manager, you will:

• Develop and lead the implementation of the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics
• Partner with Human Resources/Talent Acquisition and business leads to anticipate new hire campaigns needed, recommend channel strategies and messaging for recruitment of hard-to-reach talent, and maintain a proactive calendar to support business hiring comms needs. Talent acquisition comms campaigns will be executed in partnership with the overall Communications team.
• Develop a classified communications plan to reach employees who work in secure facilities with limited access to unclassified email, with the goal of fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging to the business for employees working on contract. Classified communications plan will be implemented in partnership with Facilities and Security team.
• Ensure all internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s goals and values
• Create and deliver internal communications content, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, podcasts, videos, and presentations
• Work with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure that all internal communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the company’s culture and values
• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis
• Develop and maintain a content calendar in coordination with the overall communications team to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant.
• Identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture
• Manage crisis communications, ensuring all employees are informed and up-to-date
• Manage and maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values
• Partner with events manager to execute internal events and other initiatives to promote employee engagement and strengthen the company culture
• Experience managing and maintaining internal communication tools is a plus (internal email software, intranet, etc.)

Skills and qualifications for success:

• BA/BS
• 8+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Strong project management skills
• Experience with content creation and delivery (i.e. email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations)
• Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Active security clearance (TS/SCI) or US person with ability to retain active security clearance
• Successful applicant must be within commuting distance of the Dulles, VA area as this is a hybrid role, with ~3 days per week in the office expected.
• Relocation is not offered with this position.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
