We’re hiring our next Communications Manager, Social Media. This role requires a communications and Social Media background and will support an office at the U.S. Department of Energy. The candidate will be highly motivated, data driven, and will help grow the capacity of ICF Next’s Social Media Practice.
We are a team of Social Media communications strategists and specialists, supporting federal, state, and local government client accounts. We work together to provide our clients with Social Media management, content writing, social listening, metrics reporting, and training. You’ll make a real impact working directly with our clients to address and solve key their key issues, drive change, and grow our business. As our next senior communications specialist, you’ll work in lock step with our agency’s leaders and our state and federal clients to research, develop, and implement innovative strategies and programs revolving around energy, sustainability, and health to help them achieve their mission.
You'll craft compelling written Social Media content, capture the client’s voice, manage projects with competing deadlines, and provide strategic guidance to our clients to optimize their Social Media outreach efforts and achieve their communications goals. You’ll also oversee a dynamic content development process, designing and executing innovative campaigns, providing guidance on integrating the latest trends and platform capabilities, and delivering insightful metrics reports.
Work closely with the account team and client to direct, develop and implement an organic Social Media strategy in support of their overall strategic plans.
Manage a matrixed team of 2-5 other Social Media specialists and help them develop their skills.
Guide and mentor junior staff and creative teams on industry trends and innovative tactics to foster growth within the company’s Social Media community of practice.
Lead weekly Social Media planning calls with clients and other team members.
Manage complex content development process, supporting the team in developing cutting-edge Social Media content, including engaging copy and graphics.
Review analytics for clients’ programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
Compile reports for management showing results (e.g., ROI, KPIs).
Understand myriad Social Media platforms and best practices to help account teams grow media channels.
Be a creative thinker and problem solver.
Work closely with creative, digital, and paid media teams.
Support social-specific strategy development for existing clients and new business.
BS/BA in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field
7+ years of experience with at least 5 years in Social Media marketing
Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust
Must be a U.S. citizen (contractual requirement)
Professional Skills:
Demonstrated experience with Social Media platform management, content development, analytics and listening tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Brandwatch)
Strong writing and editing skills
Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships
Comfortable working with remote teams
Demonstrated experience integrating creative, data/analytics, paid media, and/or other client services teams to develop fully integrated, insight-driven campaigns
Experience developing Social Media and communications plans and presenting to leadership teams
Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
Ability to work independently, seek help as needed and contribute to team and company culture
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and is able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks on a day-to-day basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in journalism
Experience in health communications and/or at a PR or advertising agency
Seasoned and experienced digital marketing practitioner who can serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of digital brand engagement to achieve client communications priorities and goals.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$76,848.00 - $130,642.00 Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
