Summary
Breck is seeking a driven Communications Specialist who has experience in strategic communications, marketing, social media strategy, and writing. This position is responsible for leading and implementing communication tasks. This position will be a part-time/freelance role in support of our federal agency clients.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for transforming and interpreting client requirements as well as market research and gap analysis into comprehensive communications, web, and media strategies
· Utilizes video production, commercial art, graphic design, integrated marketing plans, and integrated business program support tools in support of the overall media strategy
· Manages development of creative branding and advertising that meets the client’s vision and integrated program objectives
· Leads the creative process and provides motivation to all members of the organization
· Conduct gap analysis to understand stakeholders
· Guide event logistics and meetings strategy
· Guide development of communications campaigns and initiatives
· Guide branding strategy
· Deconflict communications, events, and messaging priorities
· Oversee development of communications products; survey design and deployment; and support for interviews and focus groups
REQUIRED
· Minimum of 14 years of professional experience in strategic communications, marketing or social media strategy, and writing/editing
· Experience in creating content for information campaigns, press briefings and editorials
· Capable of passing a federal agency background check
· US Citizenship
· Master’s Degree in a related field (or an additional 4 years of experience)
· Outgoing personality with the ability to build quick, strong relationships
· Strong interpersonal communicator through in-person, verbal, and written communication
· Able to receive and follow through on feedback and direction
· Goal-driven, accountable, and able to work within deadlines
· Resourceful multi-tasker
· Conceptual thinker with strong analytic skills
· Strong work ethic
