Position Title: MCU Communications Strategy Manager
Position Location: Hybrid/Remote w/ work on-location (2 to 3 times a week) in Quantico VA

Background: MCU develops and delivers Professional Military Education and training through resident and distance learning programs, while also preserving and presenting the history of the Marine Corps, in order to prepare leaders to meet current and future security challenges and inform the public of the service’s role in national defense.
MCU has been charged with the task of developing and integrating a framework and plan of action for establishing a Communications Strategy (COMMSTRAT) program. The major themes for incorporation include:
1. The Value of Marine Corps PME
2. The Role of MCU
3. People as the core strength of the Marine Corps and MCU
Across each of these broad areas, strategic messaging will be developed tailored to specific audiences via various platforms in order to achieve COMMSTRAT goals.
Position Description: The MCU COMMSTRAT Manager will work closely with MCU leadership in the creation, development and publication of messaging to meet University goals. Support shall include the design and development of materials (e.g., briefs, point papers, brochures, web content, etc.), facilitation of message delivery on social media platforms, and facilitation of appropriate news media opportunities (e.g., interviews, articles, and appearances), all which will directly support COMMSTRAT goals.
Job Requirements (minimum): Bachelor’s Degree preferred. As this is a new program, potential candidates must be able to regularly provide guidance, leadership, and vision to MCU staff in order to create and implement strategies associated with messaging, outreach, and COMMSTRAT goals. Must be able to work with Department Heads to implement COMMSTRAT strategies. Knowledge and savvy using various social media platforms is a must. Messaging must be aligned with the USMC's Core Values. Able to develop briefs, point papers, brochures, web content, and other documents to facilitate message delivery on social media platforms. Ability and knowledge of developing, curating, and posting web content is a must . The candidate for this position must have exceptional written and spoken communications. Must have or can complete OPSEC and American Forces Public Information Management System (AFPIMS) training.
Highly Desired: Candidates with a digital marketing background, ability to develop, curate, and post web-content, and that have participated in similar strategic communications efforts within an educational institution or organization are highly desired. Candidates with these similar skill-sets and previous military experience are also highly desired but not required.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
