Job description

Position: Director of Educational Technology

Reports to: Director of Curriculum & Instruction

Employment Status: Supervisor Contract Position

Position Summary

  • Oversee collection of all data for reporting to ODE
  • Support District users with Infinite Campus
  • Provide professional development to staff on a variety of technologies

Required Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of two years prior experience with collection and reporting of data to the Ohio Department of Education through EMIS preferred
  • Skilled in the use of Infinite Campus preferred
  • Meet all health requirements mandated by law
  • Satisfactory completion of the BCI and FBI background check
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle license

Job Responsibilities & Duties

EMIS

  • Coordinate with the Technology Department to troubleshoot issues and support end users in the implementation of Infinite Campus, including registration
  • Represent Beachwood School District at the Information Technology Center site and State level meetings concerning EMIS
  • Represent Beachwood School District at the Information Technology Center site and State level meetings concerning Infinite Campus
  • Enter EMIS data for reports generated for all reporting periods
  • Meet all deadlines for EMIS reporting
  • Verify and correct all district data from reports generated for all reporting periods
  • Communicate with other districts concerning student records
  • Responsible for coordination and input of Highly Qualified Paraprofessional data
  • Responsible for input of Highly Qualified Professional Development data
  • Responsible for monitoring SSID data
  • Verify all course codes for buildings in preparation for all EMIS reporting periods
  • Review report for correct position and assignment codes for all staff
  • Assist special education office with data entry
  • Support the Director of Curriculum & Instruction on the required state reporting for gifted students and staffing and assist with gifted testing, identification, written education plans, and written acceleration plans
  • Assist with the verification of College Credit Plus enrollment, courses, and textbooks purchases
  • Manage all staff EMIS screens within eFinancePlus

Educational Technology

  • Provide professional development to staff on a variety of technologies
  • Work with the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and the Director of Technology to evaluate, purchase, and implement technology
  • Evaluate and expand the current technology offerings and provide guidance to the technology staff, including the library and media specialists.
  • Works collaboratively with staff from LGCA to support Infinite Campus implementation with students, staff, and parents
  • Collaborate with other Information Technology specialists throughout the area to provide new programming
  • Lead development and implementation processes for the information technology systems

Other

  • Provide student data files for testing, including state testing, preschool assessments, KRA, and ACT
  • Process purchase orders for educational materials and online subscriptions
  • Bill preschool tuition on a monthly basis and record payments
  • Assist the Treasurer’s office with student fee management within Infinite Campus or other student fee applications
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Ability to hear and speak, read and write, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer and other equipment, kneel, bend at the waist, reach overhead – above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies, ability to lift, carry, push and pull items up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds.
