Overview:
- In collaboration with Sr. Management, responsible for developing the overall strategy for the product portfolio along with associated solutions that contribute to business growth.
- Identify areas for channel expansion, new product or solution development, partnership, or acquisition.
- Assesses the market potential for various solutions.
- Coordinates with business unit / functional management to align opportunities beyond their specific direct responsibility.
- Recommends business relationships and executes partnerships based on the overall business unit strategy.
- Develops detailed implementation plans for new business opportunities, “partnerships,” or strategic acquisitions. Develops list of potential acquisition targets and systematically tracks these from identification through deal closure.
- Defines product requirements and works directly with engineering to develop engineering specifications.
- As required, attend sales meetings, and visit customers and end-users; conduct product training and actively participate in market research.
- Serve as the primary conduit of knowledge of the assigned group of residential lighting products and acts in an advisory capacity regarding product information to Senior Management, Engineering, Operations, Marketing Services, Customer Service, Tech Service, and the Sales organization.
- Develops, reviews and revises marketing plans to drive sales growth and mix improvement.
- Anticipates potential schedule or priority delays and initiates plans for alternative actions.
- Develop a mechanism and tool for sharing Business Development contacts and coordinates activities within and across business unit lines to ensure Leviton’s contact is seamless. Prioritizes opportunities and communicates progress and recommendations to Senior Management.
- Monitors, evaluates, and provides recommendations to management on the performance and effectiveness of Business Development efforts.
- Development of business plans for expansion of channels, products, solutions, or “partnerships.”
- Helps define the training needs and outlines resources required for implementation.
- Actively participates in industry organizations and conferences that could directly benefit Leviton.
- Develops budget and proactively manages it.
- Completing other duties and projects as assigned by executive management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills
- Capable of working independently and have sense of ownership in work product.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing or business administration preferred.
- MBA desirable
- 10-15 years’ experience in Product Management, Marketing, Channel Management, Business Development, Business Planning or Mergers and Acquisitions.
- Strong industry relationships / experience in the residential lighting market required.
