We are seeking an Earned Value Assistant with 5+ years of quantity surveying experience. The primary duties will include qualifications are job walks, quantity surveying, progress validation and report writing. Working collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to analyze project specifications, identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts, and implement effective cost management strategies. They will play a critical role in ensuring that the project is completed within budgetary constraints while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Compensation: $66,000- $90,000 *anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity. The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting. There will also be a per diem and overtime available for this role.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team for an industrial construction project. The Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing costs, ensuring budget compliance, and optimizing financial efficiency throughout the construction process. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team, contractors, and stakeholders to contribute to the successful delivery of the industrial construction project. You will attend meetings and participate in client field visits as needed within Washington.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for the industrial construction project.
  • Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
    • Monitor and control project costs, providing regular updates on budget status to project stakeholders.
  • Tendering and Procurement:
    • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bill of quantities and contract terms.
    • Conduct procurement activities, negotiate contracts, and assess supplier and subcontractor bids.
  • Cost Control:
    • Implement effective cost control measures throughout the construction project lifecycle.
    • Monitor project progress and expenditures, identifying and addressing potential cost overruns.
  • Value Engineering:
    • Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to explore value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Change Management:
    • Evaluate and assess changes in project scope, and quantify the impact on costs.
    • Collaborate with project stakeholders to negotiate and implement changes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess potential risks related to costs and contracts.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize financial impact.


    Job Requirements
    :

    • Familiarity with government grant Earned Value requirements is ideal.
    • Knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and project management principles.
    • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as cost estimation and project management software.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple priorities.


    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in industrial construction projects.

Positions will require in-person interactions and may require working onsite in an office or field environment. This position is subject to federally mandated drug/alcohol testing. This will require in-depth drug screening for all positions.

    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
    • Job duties will generally be performed at a Client’s office, client site, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Day to day job direction will typically be lead by our Clients designated project leader.
    • Conditions and/or schedule will vary at each Client location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
    • Candidates will be required to follow our clients' site based rules and protocols regarding infectious diseases.
