IdealTax is actively seeking to hire a Digital PR Specialist, the ideal candidate has a strong sense of what's happening in the industry and a desire to constantly learn, collect trending insights, and take on new challenges.
Overview of Responsibilities:- You will focus on increasing the authority of the brand's website by securing links, citations, and mentions from relevant, authoritative sources.
- To do this successfully, you will focus on building and maintaining relationships with relevant publishers, journalists, influencers, and industry experts to promote our content and build exposure for the brand.
- You will take ownership of your ideas, champion your projects and be willing to try new tactics to achieve our goals.
- You will determine what makes content "outreach-able" and worthy of high-quality, relevant coverage.
- Create unique, creative outreach messages to journalists, website owners/admins, bloggers, etc. via email.
- Use outreach tools to research and evaluate relevant websites that may be willing to link to our website or mention our brands on their platforms.
- Manage and develop key relationships with journalism contacts (writers, editors, marketers, etc.) to identify additional opportunities for collaboration.
- Research industry trends, news, and digital marketing best practices, and use the data to develop strategy.
- Maintain and grow a comprehensive database of media contacts.
- Monitor and report competitor activity and relevant industry trends, events, and opportunities to appropriate teams.
- Identify link-worthy content within growth verticals and collaborate with SEO and content.
- Build and contribute to a comprehensive database of media contacts.
- Meet defined link goals consistently.
Monitor HARO queries daily and identify opportunities relevant to the accounting industry and our expertise
Craft and send compelling pitches to journalists and media outlets
Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and influencers in the accounting sector
Track and report on media placements, including online, print, and broadcast
Provide recommendations for optimizing our PR strategy based on HARO results
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on outreach and digital PR experience
- BA in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
- Experience in link building or similar roles (e.g., sales prospecting, managing email lists/outreach, administrative tasks, etc.)
- Strong written and persuasive communication skills - mastery of the English language is key.
- Knowledge of digital PR and link building tools such as Buzzstream (or other contact management system like http://Outreach.io), Buzzsumo, Meltwater, Cision, Muckrack, and Ahrefs
- Requires advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and marketing reporting platforms.
- This role focuses primarily on SEO link building with ties to traditional PR.
