Justice Action Center (JAC) is a startup social justice organization that combines the power of storytelling with impact litigation to advance immigrant justice. We focus on fulfilling unmet needs historically overlooked in the nonprofit immigration space through creative communications and legal strategies that center the needs and experiences of our plaintiffs. JAC is seeking a creative, values-driven Digital Manager to lead digital strategy within the Communications Department. The Manager will be responsible for working closely with, and supervising, the Communications Specialist. The Manager will be supervised by the Communications Director.
JAC is permanently a fully remote organization, with 10 staff based throughout the country.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Digital strategy (70%)
Develop a digital growth strategy informed by metrics and analytics for all of JAC’s digital platforms (e.g. website, social media, external email blasts)
Leverage client stories to design dynamic digital campaigns and social media content, including toolkits, videos, and graphics, with assistance from the Communications Specialist
Lead JAC’s email program, creating engaging calls to action such as petitions and sign-on letters
Establish and lead paid ads program
Regularly track and report on digital engagement metrics
Create a JAC brand kit
Other Communications Support (15%)
Manage JAC’s website
Assist with developing fundraising materials, including to highlight JAC’s 5th anniversary
Participate in coalition work with partner organizations and other stakeholders
Management (15%)
Supervise the Communications Specialist, as well as potential interns or fellows
Preferred Skills (not required)
Proficiency in a language other than English (e.g. Spanish, Haitian Kreyol)
Experience in litigation or immigration communications
Experience with Google Analytics or similar software
Videography experience is a plus
Qualifications At least 5 years of experience of leading digital strategy at a nonprofit organization, advocacy group, communications agency, or with elections campaigns
Skills Needed
Proficiency with CRM platforms like Action Network and/or Neon, and website platforms like WordPress
Strong graphic design skills (e.g. Canva) with a knack for distilling complex ideas clearly and concisely, while working under tight deadlines
Excellent writing and copyediting skills
Strong prioritization skills
Comfort working remotely with diverse coalitions in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
Physical Demands/Work Environment
100% remote position
Must reside and work in the United States
Occasional out-of-state travel required
