Digital Communications Manager

Cytokinetics is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which muscle performance is compromised and/or declining. The Corporate Digital Communications Manager will be a valued member of our highly collaborative Corporate Communications & Investor Relations team. We are looking for a creative and skilled communicator with a passion for the biotech industry and for making a difference in patients' lives. The Corporate Digital Communications Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of internal and external communications focused on digital platforms. The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling using digital media and has a great eye for design. This role involves a high degree of cross-functional collaboration with colleagues across Corporate Communications, Patient Advocacy, HR, IT, Compliance, Regulatory, Commercial and others.
The position is based in South San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and management of Cytokinetics' social media presence, including content curation and development, internal reviews, publishing, monitoring, engaging and metrics reporting
• Oversee corporate website content updates, maintenance and enhancements, and serve as lead contact for web developers and hosting provider
• Champion company intranet, in partnership with IT. Serve as main internal point of contact for employees, support training, drive adoption, support content publishing, and oversee analytics reporting. Collaborate with external developers to fix bugs, enhance functionality and implement upgrades
• Collaborate with colleagues in Corporate Communications & Clinical Operations and vendor to lead creation and implementation of digital clinical trial recruitment campaigns including development of trial websites
• Create, edit and manage rotating digital content on screens across two office locations (South San Francisco, CA and Radnor, PA) to showcase company culture
• Collaborate with colleagues in Corporate Communications and external partners to conceptualize, coordinate and publish a variety of internal- and external-facing videos
• Document employees, events and company culture through photos
• Develop and/or work with agency partners to create Digital Communications and corporate collateral including newsletters, advertisements, websites and printed materials, ensuring alignment with corporate brand guidelines
• Collaborate with agency partners to address branding and design needs, including creation of logos or templates in line with brand guidelines
• Manage internal communications for employee recognition program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business, marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, social media, Digital Communications or similar role
• Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience a huge plus, in house or at an agency
• Highly proficient super user of technology with knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Word Press or other website content management system, SharePoint (or other intranet platforms) and social media management platforms
• Strong graphic design eye and proven ability to partner with graphic designers and video creators as art director
• Knowledge of graphics software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Canva a plus
• Familiarity with trends and best practices in communications, social media (organic & paid), and Digital Communications
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing social media channels in the life sciences industry
• Clear understanding of the biotech/pharma regulatory and compliance landscape as it relates to Digital Communications and content
• Ability to conceptualize, think creatively and tell a story
• Strong concise written and verbal communications skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong multi-tasker with ability to manage tight timelines and shifting priorities
• Confident self-starter, with track record of success in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Fast learner, resourceful, ability to adapt to changing situations

Salary pay range: $129,000 - $157,000. Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.
