Job Overview
The Deputy Director of Cybersecurity is responsible for establishing and maintaining the information security program to ensure that information assets and associated technology, applications, systems, infrastructure, and processes are adequately protected in the digital ecosystem in which we operate. Key elements of the role include: working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization, maturing the organization's CMMC program, and proactively working with business units and ecosystem partners to implement practices that meet agreed-on policies and standards for information security.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Lead the Organization
  • Develop and lead an information security governance structure, providing clear risk-mitigating directives for projects with components in IT, including the mandatory application of controls.
  • Develop and manage the budget for all security program costs, including staffing, dotted line assets, and related vendors.

Set the Strategy
  • Develop and deliver to an information security vision and strategy that is measurable, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities, the organization's business objectives.
  • Identify appropriate resource allocation to increase the maturity of the information security level and effectively communicate that to executive stakeholders.

Build the Network and Communicate the Vision
  • Creates the necessary internal relationships among the information security team and line-of-business executives, corporate compliance, audit, physical security, legal, and HR management teams to ensure alignment as required.
  • Liaises with external agencies, such as law enforcement and other advisory bodies, as necessary, to ensure that the organization maintains a strong security posture and is kept well-abreast of the relevant threats identified by these agencies.

Establish Governance and Build Knowledge
  • Develops, socializes, and coordinates approval and implementation of security policies.
  • Partner with the procurement management office to ensure information security requirements are included in all contracts.
  • Directs targeted information security awareness training programs for all employees, contractors, and approved system users.

Operate the Function
  • Define and facilitate the processes to identify information security risks, review legal mandates, and complete regulatory assessments, including reporting and overseeing treatment efforts to address negative findings.
  • Manage and contain information security incidents and events to protect corporate IT assets, intellectual property, regulated data, and the company's reputation.
  • Develop and oversee effective disaster recovery policies and standards to align with the enterprise business continuity management (BCM) program goals, with the realization that components supporting primary business processes may be outside the corporate perimeter.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business information systems (IS), finance, computer science, technology, engineering, or another related field.
  • Demonstrated five (5) plus-year history of successful experience and success in senior leadership roles in risk management, information security, and IT security.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government National Agency Check (NAC) clearance and/or security clearance if required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English to perform contract requirements and comply with emergency procedures.
  • Ability to pass any employment background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
