Denial Coord./Electronic Payment Specialist - Medical Billing

Gardner Health Services is currently recruiting to fill a Denial Coordinator/Electric Payment Specialistposition. This is a full-time position in Gardner's Medical Billing Department located at the Alviso Health Center at 1621 Gold St. Alviso, CA 95002. The Denial Coordinator/Electronic Payment Specialist is responsible for collecting, analyzing denial and write off data along with all electronic (ERA) postings, ensuring all payment balancing procedures are adhered to, and work with Senior Accountant to balance bank reconciliations. This position also includes processing denials, training staff on cash receipts, unapplied credits and assist with charge entry when needed. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, highly organized and have ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications of this position is listed below. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Two (2) years’ college or business school (emphasis in accounting, preferred) or Equivalent work experience.
• Experience with data entry and ten-key calculator by touch.
• Three (3) years’ experience in Medical Billing in a clinical setting.
• Experience and knowledge of Medical Billing/coding (ICD-10), electronic remittance, electronic medical records systems, Denial Management.
• Community or Public Health clinic billing experience, preferred

Compensation:

Compensation and level of position placement will be determined based on relevant experience and education.
