We are looking for a Senior Support Payment Specialist. This position is responsible for processing SDI claims and ensuring accurate verification of employment details across various job assignments. The Senior Payment Support Specialist will handle a high volume of phone calls for various employee inquiries included but not limited to: Unemployment, Verifications of Employment, etc. This person must also possess and maintain a working knowledge of the deduction processes including, but not limited to Garnishments and Trust.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Disability claim forms.This process requires the knowledge of the Disability and Paid Family Leave (PFL) program. Included but not limited to; inquiries from employees and clients, verify eligibility and earnings information and manage completion of claim forms for plans in California, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island & Puerto Rico timely and accurately.
  • Handles a high volume of telephone calls for various employee & client inquires.This process requires the ability to handle approx. 100 plus phone calls a day while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor. 
  • Analysis of employee earnings for potential adjustments for Name and SSN corrections, work and resident state, incorrect pay code, etc. based on employee requests.  This process requires extensive analysis of an employee's earnings to identify potential adjustments to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Training - Responsible for training various team members on all processes to ensure constancy across team members.
  • Review Direct Deposit set ups as required.
  • Provide back up support to other areas within the Payroll Processing Center's responsibilities.  This process requires to cross-train on other Payroll Processing Center responsibilities including but not limited to Pensions, Adjustments, and Data Entry etc. and assists other team members as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • High school diploma.
  • 2 - 3 years payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce.
  • Experience working with computer systems.
  • High level of computer ability.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Good Communication to include active listening, written and oral comprehension and expression.
  • Must be organized.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Handle high volume of telephone calls.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Responsive to employee issues.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the workplace.
  • Job requires sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Requires squatting and bending.
  • Requires minor servicing of printers, fax machines and copiers.
  • Over-the-top performance.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.13/hr - $32.40/hr and is commensurate with experience related to the position.
