About Us:
SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

What We're Seeking:
SWD Inc. is in the process of adding 3 new lines to our production departments and is expanding our Addison, IL. facility. That means we are growing and growing fast! We are seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative. This full-time role must also be able to work Monday-Friday!
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer customer phone calls and requests for information within ten minutes. Let as few calls as possible go to voice mail.
- Expedite delivery requests within established time constraints. Intermediate between customer and managers.
- Handle inquiries regarding order status and shipping schedules for customer parts. Complete necessary paperwork: shipping notices, bills of lading and other records required for the successful handling and shipping of customer orders.
- Enter and maintain "hot job" list and promise list. These schedules must be coordinated with department supervisors. Generate a "hot job" list for the next day. Work closely to establish production schedules to coordinate all activities related to the scribe duties.
- Must coordinate special packaging and handling on such orders.
- Prepare paperwork for any orders requiring immediate action by the quality control department, prior to "hot job" pick-ups.
- Assure that certifications are complete before customer pick-up.
- Back-up order entry when necessary (To be coordinated with operations manager and comptroller)
- Treat all customers fairly with no partiality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Practice safe work habits, following outlined policies and procedure.
- Operate a Forklift
- Reviewing and comprehending Shop Orders
- Be aware of SWD Inc., company policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by QS-9000 and ISO-14001 and outlined in the SWD Inc.'s quality and environmental systems policy and procedure manuals.
Qualifications:
- Education/Work Experience
- Entry level position
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Basic reading, writing and math skills.
