Food and Beverage Manager

Lawrence Park Golf Club is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Manager who is proficient in all aspects of private club front of house and back of house operations. We are looking for a proven leader and an individual who is self-motivated with a passion for producing the highest quality of customer service.

Reports to: LPGC Board

Supervises: Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, Sous Chef, Bar Manager, Bartenders and Servers of club house, Banquet Staff

Essential Duties:

· Consistently provides superior dining and all Food and Beverage experiences for club members and guests

· Accountable for quality control, purchasing, inventory management, and all levels of cost control

· Responsible for strategic plan and budgeting in conjunction with the leadership team

· Establish and assign production and preparation tasks on a daily basis

· Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for staff and guests while adhering to all local, state and federal regulations

· Manage the Food and Beverage club house staff and banquet staff in order to retain and motivate employees, empower, coach, and counsel

· Standardize methods in which work will be accomplished

· Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, and studies

· Evaluate current operations and set appropriate and necessary standards of operation, process, execution, and delivery within the culinary operation and front of house, taking ownership for the entire experience from production to final delivery of the end product

· Responsible for approval of all banquet contracts, accounts payable, and all labor costs

· Appraises the board on significant personnel actions to include but not limited to compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions

· Prepares job descriptions for all management level positions. Assists other managers in preparing job descriptions for their departments

· Provides overall direction for the banquet operation on a daily basis in accordance with approved strategic plan, policies and procedures

· Ensures staff complete all mandatory records and reporting processes

· In partnership with the Board develops a strategic plan (identifies issues, needs, goals, and objectives) for current and future success of the Food and Beverage department

· Sincere, positive and visible leadership and interaction with all members and guests

· Active participant in board and club committee meetings

· Develop and promotes creative special events with the appropriate management team

· Holds a monthly department staff meeting

Qualifications:

· 3 years of related private club experience and 5 years of total management experience preferred

· Excellent knowledge of F&B financials, purchasing and cost controls

· Outstanding interpersonal and written/verbal communications

· Strong organizational and planning skills with focus on details and quality

· High level of professionalism and integrity, demonstrates clubs core values

· Proficiency in Microsoft software programs

· Promote retention of an experienced seasonal workforce

· Ability to organize workloads and meet time deadlines

· Reliable Transportation

· Verifiable strengths in team development, financial performance, quality food & beverage programming, strategic planning, renovations, projects management and new member marketing

· Record of working closely with and supporting club board and committees

Education Requirements:

Associate’s Degree in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts preferred

Lawrence Park Golf Club is a private 18-hole regulation course located in Erie, PA. From the longest tees it presents 6,494 yards of golf for a par of 72. The course was designed by Alfred H. Tull, ASGCA and opened in 1921.
