Duties (Brief description of the principal task involved):
Accountable for ensuring production needs are met by carrying out start-up and operation of CPC cast machine functions according to process parameters. Accountable for carrying out die set-ups and completion of die readiness in a timely manner to meet customer requirements. Provide break relief for department operators (melting, CPC casting operators and tooling) as required.

- Should wear all necessary PPE (earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, natural clothing (cotton), long sleeve shirts and pants.
- Able to operate equipment and train how to operate it in a safe manner (die cast machine, computer IDEA 3, forklift, crane hoist, etc…)
- Correctly and completely perform die changes on CPC machines, as well as trim die changes, prepare metal, charge melting furnace and transfer metal to CPC machine.
- Pull and change over CPC dies and trim dies for repairs
- Train how to change riser tubes, gaskets and ceramic bushings.
- Confirms, revises, creates operating procedures for all peripheral equipment including robots, and quench tanks.
- Ensure all production KPI goals are met including OEE and Yield by closely Monitoring Man, Method, Material and Machine and taking appropriate action to correct
- Verify CPC casting machine performance is consistent with settings. Notify Engineering and correct deficiencies with Practical Problem Solving (including 5 why)
- Monitor production output, scrap, product quality, and safety continuously.
- Troubleshoot all issues affecting normal production, coordinate corrective actions using root cause analysis (5 Why)
- Train and monitor operators on proper operation of machines, maintenance and troubleshooting of quality problems.
- Confirm completion of all required paperwork and production reporting with the utmost accuracy. This includes, pre-shift checklists and production/scrap reports.
- Must understand, practice and enforce 5S practices as a “way of life”
- Practice continuous improvement in all areas.
- Follow all work instructions and company policies as well as other duties as directed by the shift leader or Manager.
- Responsible for identifying Environmental Aspects for his/her department, and supporting Environmental Management Plan(EMP) goals and targets through training, engagement and communication.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must comply with all safety regulations and proper operating procedures, utilizing required safety equipment at all times. Employees are obligated to leave workplace in a clean and orderly manner. Must immediately inform respective shift of group leader if there are any issues related to Man, Method, Material, or Machine.

-High School Diploma or Equivalent
-Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) Preferred
- Blue Print Reading
- Mechanically inclined
- 2-3 years with casting experience preferred
- Ability to learn new duties and adjust to new situations
- Ability to Communicate Effectively
-Assist with shift lead responsibilities
-Ability to work multiple shifts, weekends and overtime
-Ability to work in a cooperative team environment
