Are you ready to lead the charge in maintaining the pristine beauty of the iconic Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse? Join us as the Custodian Crew Leader and spearhead a team of custodial experts in the heart of our Public Buildings Janitorial Division, within the Internal Services Department.
Examples of Duties
- Coordinates and participates in activities of a staff of Custodian/Janitor personnel
- Monitoring progress of assigned work and ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures and standards
- Assists and advises subordinates, as necessary, resolving problems as non-routine situations arise
- Maintains cleaning supply inventories, recording acquisition and consumption, and preparing requisitions, as necessary
- Maintains work orders, schedules and activity reports, filing or submitting in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Opens and secures buildings at start and end of workday, respectively; may turn on and off lights at start and end of day, respectively, and adjust heating or air conditioning, as appropriate
- The hours of operation for this position are 12:00pm to 9:00pm
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school and one year of custodian work experience in an office or commercial environment, preferably to include some lead or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Negative drug screen and background check are required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in janitorial work
- Knowledge of the physical layout of assigned County buildings and facilities
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning materials
- Ability to maintain adequate supply inventories
- Ability to prepare and maintain routine records and reports
- Ability to assign, direct and supervise a subordinate custodial staff
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform medium physical work
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments
