Job Title : Hands-On Controller - Rapidly Growing Healthcare Company

Location: Houston , TX

Phoenix Pro Connect is representing a healthcare company currently in rapid growth mode and looking to bring on a Hands-On Controller to join their team in Houston. This company, backed by private equity, is dedicated to providing exceptional services and solutions in the healthcare industry, aiming to improve patient care and outcomes through innovation, efficiency, and excellence.

Position Summary: The Hands-On Controller will play a pivotal role in our client's company's financial management and strategic direction. This position requires a highly motivated and hands-on individual with operational and strategic expertise in finance and accounting, particularly within the healthcare sector. While CPA qualification with a mix of public and private experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will also have ERP experience, with a focus on integration, to support the company's growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
2. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
3. Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management in decision-making processes, including mergers, acquisitions, and expansion initiatives.
4. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
5. Manage the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
6. Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
7. Monitor and analyze key financial metrics and KPIs to assess company performance and drive operational efficiency.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, lenders, and investors.
9. Lead and mentor finance and accounting team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
11. Utilize ERP systems and oversee integration processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with significant experience in the healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and industry trends.
• Proven track record of success in financial leadership roles, preferably in fast-growing companies or private equity-backed firms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and experience with integration processes; healthcare-specific ERP experience is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
