Key Job Responsibilities
- Plans, directs and coordinates all operational accounting functions including monthly & quarterly close processes and associated preparation of financial statements per GAAP standards
- Develops, implements, and continuously enhances internal control frameworks, financial policies, and reporting systems
- Coordinates and manages workflows with third party tax preparers and external auditors while overseeing regulatory reporting and lender compliance packages
- Collaborates with VP Finance to provide input on budgeting / forecasting, KPI monitoring, and other financial analyses
- Assist in preparation of Board of Directors reporting packages and external capital raising activities
- Comfortable maneuvering in Quickbooks and Netsuite financial ERP systems
- Lead and grow a team of direct reports in the accounting department, while reporting to the VP Finance
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Certified Public Accountant license
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Accounting
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including partly as a senior level accounting manager / assistant controller / controller
- External audit experience at a nationally recognized accounting firm is a plus
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Self-starter that is comfortable working in a fluid, entrepreneurial environment
- Willing to relocate to Houston, Texas as the role is primarily in-office with some work-from-home flexibility
