Job Summary and Qualifications
The position’s primary responsibility will be to define, implement and support integration of customer source HIS systems to HCA Healthcare Revenue Cycle systems and Physician Service Center eClinicalWorks. Provides recognized business knowledge and subject matter expertise in analyzing and collaborating on business opportunities and IT-based solutions for a specified business area. Supports business owners related to system enhancements or system issues and is considered to be the ITG liaison between development and business. Works with other key project team members to define requirements, design the functional solution, identify and resolve project issues, and ensure the IT solution meets requirements and the business need.
This position requires a background and operational experience with healthcare business practices and with healthcare IT revenue cycle systems including MEDITECH Expanse, Cerner, Epic, Allscripts and/or MEDHOST. Candidate should have sound knowledge and experience in Patient Access (Admissions), Charge generation, Billing and Collections areas within the Revenue Cycle.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Elicits and documents business, user, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Provides expertise in design and provides leadership in communicating requirements to product development, testing, and education/training.
- Facilitate requirements review meetings with Developers, QA Analysts, and Project Managers to ensure that the requirements are understood.
- Participate in the review of the solution design document.
- Acts as a liaison/SME between Clients, Developers, QA Analysts, and Project Managers in all phases of integration and implementation process to ensure proper planning and execution of requirements
- Evaluate and reconcile business requirements gathered from multiple internal and external sources; Translate vendor requirements and other information into a solution specifications
- Drive the problem resolution process for application questions and issues through data collection and root-cause analysis.
- Creates deliverables independently and in conjunction with the business area and other team members and manages approvals.
- Provides coordination and clarification to project resources in support of product or solution development, testing, and training/education.
- Builds network of relationships to draw upon for business expertise that may be required in key areas.
- Identifies impact to other solutions or projects, and works with other analyst and stakeholders to identify options and recommendations.
- Ability to multi-task, given various assignments, assisting management in prioritization of tasks
- Take ownership of responsibilities, working individually or with teams to accomplish goals
- Works with all departments throughout product life cycle to ensure project dates are met and ensures timely completion of deliverables.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 or more years of experience on increasingly challenging projects in business, or systems analysis
- Understanding of HL7 standards specific to Admissions, Abstracting (BAR) and Charge (DFT) integration.
- Understanding of the analyst role with ability to educate others about the analyst roles and responsibilities
- Thorough understanding of critical IT processes - project lifecycles & SDLC
- Solid collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
- Detailed oriented and analytical with good organization skills
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks simultaneously and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Strong problem and issue resolution experience
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within the organization
- Highly motivated and be able to work independently with little supervision
- Background and operational experience in HCA Revenue Cycle systems desired
- Expertise in Patient Access and Hospital Receivables operations
- Healthcare Integration, preferably HL7 standards experience required
- Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Business Objects
