Job Summary and Qualifications

The Consulting Application Engineer (MS 365) will lead the building and integration of MS 365/SharePoint solutions for one of the largest healthcare companies in the US. Perform technical project assignments with minimal supervision. Provides enterprise operational support for SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365, and the Microsoft Power Platform. Mentor team members and lead project efforts for SharePoint / MS365 apps.

Position will be responsible for providing skill sets to oversee all SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 administration, Search admin, design and development including but not limited to R&D, infrastructure maintenance, technical support. Candidate will also possess skills to lead planning, design, governance, and architect future version deployments.

Will possess analytical and design ability, high degree of creativity; knowledge of the business implications of technical approaches, directions, and solutions; ability to innovate in complex technical areas, ability to achieve results, project planning and coordination skills, superior communication skills, and success in subordinate positions are required.

Specific responsibilities include installation of software products on various hardware platforms, operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, coordinate, assist and advise in recovery from component failures of supported systems.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration / Development and Growth

• Define, implement, and maintain governance policies and standards for SharePoint / O365 platform across the enterprise.
• Search administration - ability to work with different source connectors, recommend and configure search settings for the enterprise.
• Connect data from different sources like SharePoint, SQL or Dataverse in PowerApps. Develop flows in Power Automate to automate processes.
• Assess suitability for solutions in SharePoint Online and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Liaising with Power BI developers to support reports and dashboards
• Performing SharePoint central administration and management
• Ensuring integrity and security of data in accordance with Information Protection's security policy and best practices
• Monitoring and analyzing SharePoint server and Microsoft 365 performance using product features, PowerShell, and third-party tools
• Analyzing business requirements; assessing alternatives; design and develop SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365, Power Platform, and security.
• Provide content management strategies for intranet and extranet websites on various platforms
• Design solutions based on established patterns and best practices around content management, user adoption, governance, and change management
• Providing technical advice and guidance to development staff and leadership on SharePoint 2016/Microsoft Cloud
• Mentor and lead SharePoint development staff with application architecture, design, implementation, and processes
• Document and execute opportunities for business process improvement and innovation process, including a focus on increasing and maximizing utilization of existing technology or directing the revision of existing apps to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
• Ensure proper processes and controls exist for the full lifecycle from design to development/implementation, testing, product release and maintenance.
• Interface with other functional support groups in the planning and execution of work involving application changes
• On-call support for production systems and processes
• Problem analysis and implementation of resolutions
• Software upgrade planning and implementation
• Management of communications related to enhancements, issues / defects, and planned outages
• Direct management of critical enterprise incidents and executive escalations.

Relationship Management

• Provide leadership team with a periodic analysis of application health and adoption based on metrics and user feedback.
• Serve as advocate for the end user community in the prioritization of enhancements and defect corrections.
• Manage the software deployment pipeline to the degree required by managed business lines.
• Continuously analyze internal processes, procedures, and workflows to identify service gaps and / or waste.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to improve client satisfaction and efficiency.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies that have the potential to improve the service experience.
• Manage vendor relationships and establish governance council with internal and external stakeholders

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree - Preferred

EXPERIENCE

7 or more years of experience in a product development environment - Required

Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING
