Company Manager, Pre-Professional Programs

POSITION SUMMARYThe Company Manager, Pre-Professional Program works in conjunction with the Director,
Education Programs and respective managers to execute and manage logistics, operations,
talent/parents, and various education pre-professional programs including Tommy Tunes Awards
rehearsals/shows, youth theater productions, summer stock shows(s), Pre-professional
performance troupes/groups, JTF Festivals and/or tours, residency showcases, gala’s and/or
special events and projects. The Company Manager, Pre-Professional Program ensures that
logistics, communications, project manager, and talent representation are fully vetted and
disseminated to the appropriate arts center departments for their successful execution.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES• Manage the daily functions and communications for all pre-professional programs Tommy
Tunes Awards rehearsals/shows, youth theater productions, summer stock shows(s), pre
professional performance troupes/groups, JTF Festivals and/or tours, residency showcases,
gala’s and/or special events and projects.
• Manage, coordinate, and serve as person of contact for securing/confirming pop up
performance requests from internal and external partners, providing on site assistance.
• Compose and produce correspondence on behalf of the artistic directors and/or education
director as needed.
• Supervise various assistants, interns, volunteers, and coordinate workflow of the department.
• Generate and ensure effective internal and external communications.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective planning, promotion and execution
of education department programs and events.
• Participate in the planning and program development of longer-term and sustainable artistic
programming.
• Act as the liaison between the Education Team, artistic team, and teaching artists, students,
parents, teachers, talent to ensure effective scheduling, coordination, communication,
administration, and logistics for satisfactory participation for all parties.
• Oversee master calendar, team scheduling, talent recruitment, and auditions for all pre
professional programs.
• Track and maintain Education Team’s collateral inventory.
• Collaborate with operations team to fulfill Education event logistics.
• Assist with the organization of the Education Team’s shared drive/share point.

• Coordinate pre-production, postmortem, paper tech, rehearsal space needs,
show/performance materials and other various artistic/technical meetings for all pre
professional programs.
• Serve as a secondary tessitura user to assist in register and process payment for
students/participants.
• Assist with daily administrative duties of the Education team.
• Follow and support all operational policies and procedures.
• Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with other departments, colleagues, and
partners.
• Able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work effectively with internal and external
customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Maintain
TUTS standards of customer service at all times.
• Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms, Spanish speaking is
a plus.
• Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE• 3-5 years of experience working in performing arts and/or education, management, or special
events administration. Experience in the non-profit arts field is a plus.
• Knowledge and/or experience working with diverse and inclusive populations (ex. Toddlers to
senior adults).
• Knowledge and/or experience working and leading with students/teaching artists of varied
abilities both behavioral and mobile.
• Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint); tessitura software
experience is a plus.
• Must have financial/budgeting experience. Must be able to complete moderately complex
mathematical functions.
• Must be highly organized, superior oral/written communication skills, relationship builder,
authentic persona.
• Ability to plan organize and prioritize duties, activities, and events schedules etc. with high
attention to detail. Must be able to monitor and achieve project deadlines.
• Must have a least one (1) year of supervisory or management experience.
• Outgoing, people-oriented person with strong written, verbal, organization, analytical and
interpersonal skills.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT• This position requires the ability to work a variable schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays
to meet operational needs. Schedule will adapt depending on season, and pre-professional
programs occurring.
• Some overnight and out of town travel may be required.
