Job Description
The Community Outreach Driver will also be responsible for the day-to-day mobile unit maintenance. The ideal candidate should safely have experience driving a sizeable 24-foot vehicle, like a moving U-Haul truck. Passionate about helping others, towards a path of self-sufficiency, can manage multiple demands under pressure, have excellent attention to detail, and directly interact with clients and internal/external stakeholders.
Must be Bilingual (fluent in written and speaking English/Spanish).
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be able to travel locally
• Must be willing and able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance for anything over 50 lbs
• Required to work weekends and irregular hours as deemed necessary
• Required to work two days starting a 6 am
• Ability to tolerate possible exposure to hot and cold weather when attending outreach events
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other co-workers and the public
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Fluency written and spoken) REQUIRED
• An associate degree from an accredited college is highly desirable
• 2-3 years of community outreach activities
• 3-5 years of experience driving a large vehicle
• Excellent Customer Service
KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Pro (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of relational database/software(i.e., Access database, Salesforce, Eventbrite, etc.) is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrate a positive and professional image through dress and behaviors; display tact and friendliness when dealing with clients, leadership, staff, and partners
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Operate and maintain a 24-foot mobile office unit with a focus on safety
• Understand and comply with all Cal OSHA, Department of Motor Vehicles, and safety guidelines
• Conduct daily inspection, maintenance, and safety checks on the vehicle before use and at the end of use
• Ensure that the vehicle is in proper operational order, registration and insurance information are present and up-to-date, and promptly report any/all safety, mechanical, or maintenance issues to the Executive Director or designee
• Refuel and maintain a clean and orderly vehicle
• Log all vehicle maintenance needs and schedule regular maintenance
• Completes inventory control sheet at each event, ensures the vehicle is securely locked, and that transported items or personal items of are not left behind.
• Perform all event-related administration, including loading and unloading set-up, break-down, and post-event reporting
• Screen clients for eligibility screening for government and private sponsored programs
• Handle with care, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) confidential client information and follow StLRS’ confidentiality policy
• Perform day-to-day administrative functions, including answering phone calls, making appointment reminder calls, providing data entry assistance when needed, filing, maintaining the confidentiality of client files, etc
• Demonstrate a positive and professional image consistently through dress and behavior; display tact and friendliness when dealing with clients, leadership, staff, and partners
• Maintain Quality Assurance of all documents and files and complete data entry into the organization’s computer system
• Perform outreach activities at events such as handing out flyers, engaging the public about services, and answering questions about programs
