El Concilio California is looking for a part-time Community Health Outreach Specialist within our Civic Engagement Department. The Community Health Outreach Specialist is responsible for attending internal and external outreach events to promote initiatives under the Civic Engagement Department. This position will also reach out to community members by conducting a high volume of phone banking in both English and Spanish. Other duties will include creating flyers using platforms such as Canva, Microsoft Word and PDF. The Community Health Outreach Specialist will distribute flyers at local public space such as parks, libraries, schools, flea markets, shopping centers and other locations as needed. This position shall keep maintain records of number of community members contacted in order to generate monthly reports. Flexibility in schedule is necessary in order to work evenings and weekends based on program needs.
Qualifications: An Associates Degree in Public Relations or related field with 1-2 years of experience in a similar capacity; A high school diploma with at least 2-4 years of experience conducting outreach in lieu of a degree. Must have flexibility in hours to work evenings and weekends. Language - Bilingual, Fluent in Spanish is required.
