Community Outreach Manager
Salary Range: $84,495 - $101,395

We are looking for a Community Outreach Manager to guide and manage outreach department and outreach efforts to under-represented communities, community engagement, education, and advocacy.

Where will I work?
The Community Outreach Manager position is a full-time position operating out of the San Francisco office. This position will require you to travel locally within the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin. There will also be occasional travel to sites throughout California.
What you'll Do:
  • Supervise the Cultural Diversity Specialist, Deaf Access Specialist, Community Outreach Specialist and Community Engagement Specialist
  • Conduct outreach and relationship building focused on underserved/under-represented communities and community leaders in often marginalized communities
  • Oversee implementation of goals in Language Access and Cultural Competency Plan (LACC)
  • Work collaboratively with the Supervising Social Worker of Education and Orientation to assess services needed and collaboratively implement family groups and/or support groups, possibly in partnership with Community Based Organizations
  • Supervise Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives to people served/families
  • Work collaboratively across departments on internal DEIB work
  • Guide cross department work on behalf of GGRC Community Services Unit with GGRC Social Work Units and other key units to identify and respond to unmet needs in the GGRC community
  • Supervise annual assessment of POS demographic data and activities related to GGRC POS Demographic Public meetings
  • In collaboration with other key Agency staff, form community partnerships with Community Based Organizations that may serve as helpful resources for the GGRC community
  • Collaborate and supervise development of annual submission for Service Access and Equity grant funding to the Department of Developmental Services
  • Submit grant proposals for related funding opportunities that may arise
  • Supervise implementation of Rights Advocacy work including trainings and self-advocate groups
  • In partnership with Rights Advocate, serve as staff support to GGRC Board People's Committee
  • Provide supervision and guidance to the GGRC Rights Advocate
  • Stays current on Home and Community based (HCBS) Final Rule regulations
  • Stays current on Title 17 and Title 22 regulations
  • Participates in special projects, and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned
  • Maintains all client information as confidential in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act

Requirements
Education
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Community Development, or related human services field

Experience/Skills
  • Spanish and/or Cantonese speaking strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years post-graduate work with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Community Outreach
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Basic familiarity with MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook® or similar software applications
  • Written communication: ability to develop standard business communications, using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Oral communication: ability to convey complex information and ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Program design and evaluation experience
  • Experience in leading seminars and workshops
  • Quality Assurance and/or quality management systems experience
  • Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity

Physical Requirements
  • Travel Required within Bay Area
  • Occasional travel to sites throughout California
  • Access to reliable transportation permitting travel to and between many different locations throughout the day in order to perform the outlined responsibilities of the position
