Job Title: Community Support Coordinator, Florida and New Markets

Job Summary: The Community Support Coordinator enhances and promotes connections with the community through planning coordinating and managing all appearances of Wawa Community Care vehicles, in Florida and Adjacent Markets. The coordinator also supports Public Relations and Local Marketing Events, is a resource for Community Care product donation review and approval and onboards associates and volunteers to support Community Care vehicles and events.
Principal Duties:
- Lead execution of large-scale National Partner and local charity partner events, including: acting as the on-site liaison with charity partners, making timely and impactful decisions related to event execution and providing oversight and direction to volunteers.
- Manage Wawa’s Florida Community Care vehicle appearances at external events including: planning and executing events, managing the product preparation and distribution, supply and inventory, and performing post event maintenance.
- Manage Wawa’s Southeast fleet of promotional vehicles including 1973 VW “Florida” Bus; Wawa Florida Community Care vehicle, and Wawa Midwest Community Care vehicle. Source and maintain appropriate care and maintenance; manage agencies and vendors providing services; coordinate schedule and approve appearances. Ensure all safety, and other requirements are met in all cases.
- Work with Community Care team to ensure Wawa Florida Community Care vehicles are up to date on registrations, licensing maintenance, and have all the necessary items to run smoothly. Work directly with internal teams (QA, Risk, Store Ops) to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met for each event.
- Lead logistics for Community Care, PR and Local Marketing with a variety of projects and events. Provide recommendations on participation, in addition to planning, scheduling, staging, set-up and break down of all supplies and equipment.
- Design and produce training and materials to onboard associates supporting Midwest Community Care vehicles and engagement events.
- Cross train on the in-kind product donation dashboard and act as back up to the Community Care Support Coordinator.
- Support ordering and procurement for Community Care events for Florida, new and adjacent markets and assist in communication for all associate volunteer engagement opportunities that support these events.
- Support execution of other PR and Local Marketing events in Florida by guiding Event Champions, supporting event set up and execution, and capturing event photos and content for PR team during local events.
- All other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:

- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Comfortable driving and operating a 12 foot cargo van
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to attend events at different times, nights and weekends with potential overnight stays
- Must be able to perform physical activity lifting up to 40 lbs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Prior experience with event planning and/or store operations experience preferred
- Proficient PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation to work early mornings/late evenings and weekends when events are scheduled
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Preference for a candidate based in central and/or north Florida
