Position is responsible for developing and implementing communication plans and a wide range of traditional and digital communication tactics including direct mail, collateral development, copywriting, articles, print production, patient testimonials, basic advertising, collateral development, special events, publicity, social media, competitive tracking and other tactics. The position manages day-to-day marketing and/or public relations activities and serves as the primary contact for assigned clients. The Communication Specialist I serves on assigned teams to support strategic initiatives and key clients. The position involves a high degree of interaction with people at all levels of the organization and involves interaction in the community as a Bronson representative. Significant analytical ability and independent judgment is involved in determining work processes and priorities in dealing with confidential information. The position requires hands-on execution of diverse, multi-dimensional marketing programs and the ability to target marketing programs to segmented consumer, physician and business audiences.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field required
1 year internship or equivalent experience in communications, marketing or advertising
Additional related professional experience is preferred
NOTE: ROLE IS HYBRID (in-office and work from home flexibility)
• Must have extensive knowledge of effective and efficient marketing and communication practices and writing experience
• Position requires superior verbal and written communication skills, accomplished project management skills, a strong customer service orientation, the ability to work under deadline pressure, and the ability to work independently in a team environment
• Windows-based PC skills are needed as well as the ability to use a MAC for special projects
• Representation of Bronson Healthcare Group at external functions represents a moderate frequency/moderate risk function for this position
• Employee must have advanced oral and written communication skills as this position interfaces regularly with people at all levels within the organization and the community
• Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate quickly and clearly in a variety of situations
• Requires sensitivity to appropriately interface with physicians, patients and families
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
• Develops and implements communication plans for clients
• Cultivates strong relationships with clients and other key stakeholders. Anticipates clients' needs, identifies opportunities and solutions, customizes as appropriate matching resources to needs, conducts research and resolves problems.
• Writes copy according to Bronson brand and literacy standards to communicate key messages effectively in articles, patient and physician letters, internal communication vehicles, web pages, news releases, ad headlines and copy, brochures, etc. Research, write and edit articles for internal and external publications. Also provides editing and proofreading support to team members.
• Creates, produces and distributes communication materials for internal and external audiences, including advertising, brochures, flyers, direct mailers, publications, letters, web-based content and other tactics, in accordance with organizational priorities.
• Project manages a wide array of communication projects to deliver requested materials on time and on budget. Projects may include: direct mail, collateral development, copywriting, articles, patient testimonials, basic advertising, publication production, special events, publicity, competitive tracking and other tactics.
• Develops, updates and posts content to organization(s) and intranet(s).
• Collects, analyzes and maintains an up-to-date library of competitive information.
• Represents Bronson in collaborative efforts with other providers and community agencies.
• Shows familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
• Understand and follows Bronson's brand and graphic standards.
• Manages timelines and budgets.
• Provides support to Communication Specialist II's and team leaders.
• Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Coordinates with internal graphics/digital team on the production of communication materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
