Job Opportunity:Communications Specialist
Preferred Location: 1498 O’Dovero Drive, Marquette, MI (other locations may be considered)

Position Overview: The primary function of this role is to drive social media engagement, create and distribute copy to advertise UPMW’s operational goals, manage the website, and support teams with marketing collateral. Brand management is essential.
Job Expectations:
● Manage extensive social media marketing activities, including creating content, writing copy, and scheduling posts, in compliance with UPMW’s social media policy and platform rules and regulations.
● Monitor social media account analytics and use data to optimize campaigns and improve ROI.
● Maintain and update the organization’s website in coordination with the host.
● Design marketing collateral for print and digital advertisements, such as fliers, direct mailings, ads, and brochures while collaborating with other departments for appropriate content.
● Distribute communications using the appropriate medium; use CRM tools proficiently.
● Manage media relations and coordinate communications such as press releases and interviews.
● Maintain a prolific library of photos, video assets, and templates.
● Procure and manage marketing merchandise inventory.
● Support a wide variety of events with precise attention to planning and execution, technical support, and guest experience.
● Compile, edit, and complete required communications such as Success Stories as required by workforce programs on time and in compliance with local, state, and federal policies.
● Assess and prioritize requests for communication assistance.
● Draft and prepare content, correspondence, presentations, and special projects.
● Understand and be able to communicate clearly brand guidelines and strategies.
● Take pictures that are visually and emotionally powerful; assist staff to improve picture-taking tactics.
● Other duties as assigned.
Education / Qualification Preferences:
● Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, or related field preferred.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office, Publisher, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, WordPress, and other standard applications preferred.
● Skills and experience in marketing, copywriting, and social media.
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate using physical and mechanical medium.
● Demonstrated experience taking initiative and self-managing work.
● Impeccable integrity.
Status: Non-exempt, regular, full-time. 32 hours per week.
Compensation: Wage is$21.25 per hour and includes low-cost medical benefits, dental, vision, retirement funding, and significant paid time off.
Expected Hours of Work: Normal office hours (8-5), occasional evening hours.
TravelRequirements: Occasional travel may be required.
