Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer provides leadership and manages the day-to-day operations effectively and efficiently. This position works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and implement a strategy consistent with achieving the Board of Directors vision for the agency. The Chief Operating Officer will assume organizational management as directed by the CEO. Under extraordinary circumstances, the Chief Operating Officer may assume the CEO duties.
General responsibilities
  • Ensures that all agency operations run efficiently. Provide the leadership, management and, vision necessary to ensure that agency has the proper operational, administrative, and reporting systems to effectively manage and grow the agency with financial strength and operating efficiency.
  • Responsible for handling risk management and contracts/leases for the organization.
  • Responsible for compliance and documentation with all applicable federal, state and, governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for directing and all of the functions of the Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Maintains operations sections of agency policy and procedure manuals ensuring currency and accuracy.
  • Responsible for the operations aspects of the federal grant and the agencys strategic planning.
  • Uses available data to analyze, monitor, and report statistical information for timely management decisions and as required for federal, state and, local agencies, i.e. UDS.
  • Conducts work plans that demonstrate effective, efficient accomplishment of goals and objectives in a timely, coordinated manner. Conducts work plans that demonstrate effective, efficient accomplishment of goals and objectives in a timely, coordinated manner.
  • Assure that goals and objectives are well monitored, adjusted when required and, communicated well to all parties necessary for successful completion. Provides appropriate feedback to the CEO.
  • Assists the CEO with conceptualizing, developing, and implementing good public and community relations.
  • Models and inspires enthusiasm, competence, and commitment to quality that is desired from all agency employees.
  • Works closely with other divisions ensuring successful outcomes for objectives and sanctioned activities.
  • Attends meetings, seminars, workshops and, conferences, as needed and approved for professional development and on behalf of HCHN.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration or closely related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience
  • Previous labor relations experience

OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.

  • Must understand Age-Specific Care.
  • Basic Life Support certification desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
