Chief Operating Officer

Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge (Smith Haughey) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the team in its Grand Rapids, MI office. Smith Haughey has been providing legal services throughout the state of Michigan, and beyond, for more than 80 years. The COO sets the example in leading the business operations of the firm and in advancing the firm’s strategic priorities and commitments.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in strategic planning, organizational development, leadership, and company communication. Knowledge of and experience guiding administrative departments (finance, information technology, human resources, marketing, and facilities) is required. The COO is responsible for managing the business functions and overall operations of our multi-office law firm. The COO will be developing, planning, and implementing initiatives to address the business needs of the firm, working with the Board of Directors and other shareholders. Previous leadership experience in a professional services firm is a plus.
