The IT team at Promega consists of over 100 professionals providing services to over 2,000 Promega employees worldwide. YOUR ROLE:
As Chief Information Officer you will be a member of the senior leadership team and be responsible for leading the overall strategic direction for Promega’s IT department. You will lead the IT team which is responsible for supporting Promega’s business operations, maintaining network and data security, managing data, providing technical support, implementing new technologies, ensuring compliance, and facilitating communication. You will work directly with all internal stakeholders.
JOB OBJECTIVE: As a member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Information Officer is responsible for leading the overall strategic direction for Promega’s IT department. Responsible for the innovation, development, and deployment of IT plans to further Promega’s enterprise initiatives. This position will collaborate and communicate with all project stakeholders to ensure the delivery of IT solutions to meet business needs. The position will collaborate with all internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, HR, Legal and R&D.
CORE DUTIES:
1. Strategic Leadership. Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy of the company. Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes and customer experiences.
2. Technology Management. Oversee the development and implementation of new technological systems and infrastructure. Ensure the continuous evolution and scalability of our technology to support growth. Keep pace with industry trends and best practices.
3. Team Leadership and Development. Lead, motivate, and develop a high performing IT team. Oversee all IT teams to ensure the business goals for security, reliability, and service levels for all Promega’s business systems and infrastructure developments are met. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT department.
4. Cost Management. Manage IT costs effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining technology excellence and efficiency.
5. Risk Management and Compliance. Ensure the security of our IT systems and data, mitigating risks, and adhering to legal and regulatory compliance. Develop robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
6. Stakeholder Engagement. Serve as a member of the executive team and take part in long-term business growth strategy. Work closely with other executives to integrate IT with business strategies. Communicate technology plans and policies effectively across the organization.
7. Vendor and Partner Management. Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners. Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.S. or M.S. in a technical area such as Computer Science, Technology Management, Operations Management, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
2. 15+ years’ experience in information technology in a medium to large-scale, fast-paced operation with at least 5 years’ experience in leadership.
3. Experience in global commerce, global IT and multi-national business and regulatory practices.
4. Demonstrated experience in major corporate project management, process restructuring and change management.
5. Strong working knowledge and background in software application development, ERP systems, network and server technologies, databases, and IT operations management and support.
6. Significant experience with application integration to legacy systems, web e-commerce, and web communication/collaboration experience.
7. Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other executives and shareholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A working knowledge of the biotechnology or life sciences industries.
