As the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will be a member of the senior leadership team and represent Findorff’s board and leaders at the highest level acting as a role model for Findorff’s culture and values. Your contributions to the strategic and leadership discussions will ensure Findorff’s long-term continued success. Your oversight of the development, planning, and implementation of Business Technology (BT) strategy ensures service quality, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security in an agile organization. You're a visionary, defining and driving strategic technology initiatives by fostering innovation, prioritizing BT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future BT systems across the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • A liaison to the Board of Directors regarding any BT practices in the organization. Periodically present BT metrics and analysis for discussion.
  • Leads change management efforts and provides internal communication to the organization as needed regarding organization-wide BT information.
  • Ensures effective utilization of the systems to automate and improve both function and organization-wide processes. Utilizes data and metrics to provide insight to business leaders on current trends as well as predict future needs and potential risks.
  • Develops, tracks, and controls the BT annual budget for the department and develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for BT spending and initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the leadership team to identify ways BT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals.
  • Ensures that BT and network infrastructure adequately support the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs.
  • Establishes long-term BT needs and plans and develops strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs.
  • Directs development and execution of an organization-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Approves, prioritizes, and controls projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems. Reviews contracts and pursues master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
  • Actively develops the team within the BT department for their own professional development, advancement, and appropriate succession planning.
  • Defines and communicates corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating BT systems.
  • Ensures continuous delivery of BT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of BT systems performance.
  • Keeps current with trends and issues in the BT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advises, counsels, and educates executives on their competitive or financial impact.
  • Promotes and oversees strategic relationships between internal BT resources and external entities.
  • Serves as the Data/Cyber Security Lead for the organization.
  • Remains current on laws and regulations that apply to system operations and recommends and implements processes to address compliance with new laws and regulations as necessary.
  • Creates and maintains master policies and SOPs for the BT department.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic BT practices.
  • Ability to quickly build relationships; provide expert skills in coaching, mentoring and influencing senior leadership, stakeholders and peer groups.
  • Superior problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to all levels of employees.
  • Ability to utilize project management principles to surface competing priorities and assist management in addressing and identifying top BT priorities.
  • Experience managing the annual budget for a department.
  • Proven capability to coach and mentor direct and indirect staff to ensure high staff satisfaction; excellent ability to provide direction and leadership to the entire BT function.
  • Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience overseeing a BT department
  • 5+ years at a leadership level overseeing a team
  • Experience working with remote and hybrid teams
  • Experience in the Construction Industry is preferred
