Case Manager/Social Services

Deschutes Defenders, a non-profit public defense firm in beautiful Bend, Oregon, has an immediate opening for a case manager.

A case manager is the key link between our clients and services to include treatment, housing and transportation. The case manager will work with clients in the criminal justice system and the civil dependency (foster care) system.

Duties Include:

· Interviewing clients and performing assessments to determine clients’ social, emotional, and educational needs.

· Building and maintaining strong relationships of trust with clients and their families.

· Advising attorneys and staff on clients’ needs surrounding family dynamics, trauma, teenage development and community-based services.

· Observing parent-child visits (parenting time).

· Developing case plans for parents, children and defendants.

· Working with community-based services to get our clients housing, drug treatment, therapy and employment.

Minimum Qualifications

· B.A. in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or B.A. in another field or equivalant social work experience.

· Education or experience working in the legal or social service field is preferred but not required.

· English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Spanish language skills a plus.

· Proper telephone etiquette.

· Basic usage of modern office equipment and Microsoft Office software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
