Case Manager - Fair Housing
Starting Pay $23.40
We are seeking a Case Manager - Fair Housing. The Fair Housing Program (FHP) is part of CTI’s Housing and Consumer Education Center (HCEC). The broad mission of the FHP is to promote housing equity, housing choice, and combat housing discrimination. As a part of the HCEC, the FHP also operates with the shared goal of helping clients maintain housing stability. The two primary activities in this program are assisting clients with housing rights issues and conducting education/outreach and trainings on Fair Housing.

Responsibilities include:
- Complete intake and needs assessments with each family, which may involve a broad range of areas including housing, housing discrimination and tenant rights.
- Advocate with housing providers, help tenants request reasonable accommodations, file Fair Housing complaints, and complete eviction paperwork.
- Perform education and outreach activities to include attendance at community events and conducting trainings or workshops.
- Work closely with families to identify and build upon strengths and develop strategies to address barriers and concerns identified through the assessment process.
- Assist clients to transition to self-advocacy roles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in a Human Services related field. Significant case management experience may substitute for degree.
- 3-5 years’ experience working with low income individuals or families preferred.
- Minimum of one-year assessment, social work, paralegal, advocacy or case management work in a Human Service field required.
- Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.
- Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up CTI’s clientele.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income individuals and families.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
- Excellent crisis management skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform local travel occasionally as necessary.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/Khmer, English/Portuguese) strongly preferred.
