General Facility Mechanic

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a General Facility Mechanic in our Waukesha, Wisconsin location.
Job Summary
The overall purpose of the General Facility Mechanic is to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on WE buildings (exterior and interior) and equipment associated with the operation of the buildings (HVAC units, doors, locks, gates, dock levels, plumbing system, and fire protection system). Assist other trades such as Electricians, Facility Mechanics, and Contractors.
Job Responsibilities

• Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Repair overhead doors, and operators, yard gates and operators and fans (automatic & manual).
• Perform preventative maintenance of overhead doors, yard gates, pumps, motors, compressors, loading dock equipment, etc.
• Working off blueprints and schematics, remodel, refurbish, and paint new offices, cubicles, furniture, including building walls and ceilings.
• Perform maintenance work: including installing carpeting, making door hardware repairs and installations, plumbing repairs cutting keys, installing lock sets, performing paint jobs as necessary.
• Clean and lubricate HVAC parts and replace filters and belts as necessary.
• Compile, prioritize, and schedule maintenance and repair work. Contact contractors and service vendors, and schedule, coordinate and direct their work as required.
• Maintain plumbing systems and equipment, including faucets, waste systems, and Bradley fountain and toilet fixtures.
• Assist Facility Mechanic with installation and maintenance of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Assist contract trade workers (masons, carpenters and plumbers, etc.)
• Coordinates work activities of outside vendors and company employees.
• Install, inspect, test and clean safety equipment including fire extinguishers, safety showers, eyewash stations and first aid kits.
• Handle waste and recycled materials.
• Work with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) records.
• Assess inventory and current use needs for parts, equipment and supplies.
• Contact suppliers and contractors to purchase equipment, parts, and supplies as determined by maintenance and repair projects and inventory levels.
• Assist with the movement of materials and supplies

Minimum Experience Required

• Applicant must have at least 1 year experience in the maintenance of buildings and related facilities (e.g. Installing, repairing and maintaining Electrical systems, HVAC systems, Plumbing Systems, Facilities, etc.)
