The department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Buyer to work at UHealth. The, UHealth Supply Chain Services Buyer meets end users (customer) supply needs and the execution of timely and cost-effective purchases for the organization. The Buyer's is on the timely processing of requisitions and orders while providing excellent customer service. The Buyer has authority to place orders and confirm price structures within the spending limits assigned by the director of purchasing and in compliance with finance division guidelines.
- Reviews and authorizes purchase orders to ensure compliance with active contracts.
- Researches and recommends products to end users looking to maximize current / active in-place contracts.
- Assures orders have proper authorization, account numbers, price, product /service description, delivery instructions and other terms and conditions.
- Communicates with suppliers to validate information and finalize a business transaction (price, delivery, contract terms and conditions).
- Evaluates departmental requests for contracted items, substitutions, or referral to sourcing.
- Communicates with sourcing for adjustments to the contracts.
- Determines most appropriate method of order placement in conjunction with the senior buyer.
- Confirms that all orders processed are submitted to vendors without error.
- Maintains proficiency in the use of order management tools and requisition systems.
- Assist customers with questions and concerns
- Answers phone calls from customers and suppliers, ensuring the utmost customer service.
- Addresses efficiently customer issues and concerns received via e-mails and/or phone calls.
- Addresses customer receiving/distribution order issues utilizing appropriate databases by calling the supplier and/or utilizing other shipping carrier's databases (i.e. UPS, FED-EX).
- Cleanses customer special purchase order requests by verifying if the item requested is in the supply chain database system.
- Processes rush orders for customers in a timely manner considering the nature of the rush request.
- Serves as a knowledgeable resource to support customers (clinical and administrative staff) with respect to product and contract information.
- Maintains current knowledge of product changes/conversion, implementation details, and ongoing contract processes for those portfolios assigned.
- Acts as a knowledge resource to support assistant buyers regarding the management of price discrepancies and the appropriate selection of order placement structures (purchase orders,

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Healthcare procurement experience preferred

- Understanding of University goals and operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required.
