Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Two (2) years business college or other formal training preferred.
Experience / Qualifications
- Previous Healthcare Materials Resources (Purchasing or Logistics) experience or relevant experience in the procurement of materials and equipment in the healthcare field preferred
- Strong personal computer skills required (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and relative MMIS software.
- Ability to self-direct and exercise independent judgment in situations requiring follow-up and discussions other departments to ensure completeness of task and customer satisfaction.
- Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the department.
Position Summary
The Buyer is responsible for assisting purchasing and logistics teams in the management of the contracts.
- Timely reviewing, editing and processing of purchase requisitions.
- Reports discrepancy problems and ensures all requisitions are processed within 24 hours.
- Utilizes the MMIS computer system to complete required work including monitoring of non-inventory, open and back orders.
- Ensures that all purchasing paperwork is processed and that all returns and credits are managed appropriately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
