SUPERVISRION OF:Current supervision of the following roles Maintenance Technician, Youth Program Lead, and YouthProgram Aides, in addition to those that may be assigned

OVERVIEW:The Business Manager will oversee all aspects of business and operations for The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center. Including, but not limited to volunteers, rentals, property, compliance with The Salvation Army's child safety policies, Social Services, and overseeing the staff for the After School Program, Summer Day Camp and the above listed groups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Answer and/or respond to all business and facility inquires by approved Salvation Army communications tools and assigned technology (telephone, emails, etc.) or in person.
- Greet and direct clients and visitors when needed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for all programming areas.
- Social Services:
- Oversee and expand social services programs.
- Approve and process vouchers.
- Volunteers:
- Develop and maintain a volunteer database. This will include documentation of volunteer hours, recruitment, train, and supervise volunteers and court appointed individuals from the community.
- Process all Presidential Awards as needed.
- Rentals:
- Schedule and process all rentals.
- Update posted rental schedule as changes occur.
- Receive rental and youth program payments through CCMS kiosk and keep a record of payments.
- Forward all payments to Administrative Specialist to be processed appropriately.
- Property:
- Purchase supplies for property as needed with prior approval from Corps Officer
- Maintain accurate records, liability waivers and contact information on all participants.
- Conduct regular inventory of all equipment and supplies.
- Drop off donated items
- to a Salvation Army donation center.
- Child Safety Duties
- Implement Child Safety procedures as outlined by The Salvation Army policies.
- Maintain accurate, organized, complete and functional files related to Protecting the Mission and Policies for Work with Minors.
- Plan, prepare for, and conduct training and informational sessions and workshops as related to Protecting the Mission and Policies for work with minors.
- Ensure compliance to policies. Disseminate and provide updates of Mission and Policy material at the Eastside Corps Community Center.
- Lead or assist, as necessary, with following through with concerns and complaints.
- Update website, marquee, and television displays on property.
- Maintain prescribed risk management standards to include certification, in-service training, and accident/ incident report procedures and tracking.
- Supervisory responsibilities will included:
- Responsible for the day to day supervision of employees including work assignments, employee coaching, growth and development, communications, management of employee status changes and performance management and evaluations.
- Recruit, hire, train, and schedule all staff under position direction including adherence to Salvation Army employee policies and AA, EEO and OFCCP requirements.
- Approve timesheets for staff under the Business Manager.
- Must maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications for self and all other staff at the Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center
- Timely and accurate reporting of monthly and yearly stats to appropriate programs and agencies, including but not limited to cities and DHQ for all areas under position direction.
- Support DHQ in grant writing as needed.
- Work with DHQ financial and development departments
- Help with the planning and execution of year round events.
- Coordination and assistance of holiday projects as needed.
- Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
- Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing as needed.
- Attend Community Agency Meetings. Keep up to date on changes in community agencies procedures and regulations.
- Attend staff and Advisory Council meetings, training, and conferences as recommended and approved by commanding Officer.
- Conduct assessments as needed to determine whether services offered are relevant.
- Provide input to the budget process for all departments and keep expenditures within approved budgetary line items.
- Follow all fiscal and financial policies and procedures implemented by the Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center
- Implement all safety policies and regulations as required by The Salvation Army Injury and Incident Prevention Program (IIPP), including reporting of any injury, illness or near-misses by employees. close working relationship with other Corps personnel.
- Regular attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
- Enter and update work schedule into Outlook.
- Perform any other work related duties and assignments as requested by supervisor.
GENERAL NOTES AND PRECAUTIONS
- Use proper methods when lifting. If an item is too heavy, get help
- When working with volunteers, clear communication and supervision is required
- All vandalism or building damage must be reported to the Commanding Officer
- Any injuries must be reported immediately to the Commanding Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to work with limited or no supervision.
- Ability to work with other staff members and volunteers a must.
- Ability to speak English fluently to communicate with volunteers and clients.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
- Must have good communication and organizational skills.
- Must be a team-player.
- Must be goal-oriented and self-motivated.
- Capable of maintaining high level of integrity

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, carts, pallet jacks, boxes, crates, and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone, desktop or laptop computer.

Parental Leave: Benefit will be one week (5 business days) of paid leave at the employee's normal rate of pay for births, adoptions and foster placements.
